Commitment

Commitment in sports is a very challenging yet rewarding attribute.  Before a student-athlete goes to a sport tryout, they must consider many factors.  The most important factor is academics.  The goals for academics must be still met even when committing to an extra curricular activity.  Grades should not suffer when you put time into another activity.  Once you have established a plan for academics, the next factor is  being able to commit for a period of time.  Practices are daily, and games can go well into the evening.  Your commitment to the sport is vital to the coaching staff and your teammates.   Before you tryout, know what kid of commitment you are making to your family, team, coach, and most importantly YOURSELF!

To be a student-athlete at HHS your making a HUGE commitment.  There is a rich history here at Hampton High.  You are putting that jersey/uniform on with the name "Hampton" or "Crabbers" on it.  You should always take pride in playing for your school.  Coaches are making a commitment to  you as a student-athlete.  They put their time and effort in to teaching you the necessary skills to be successful. As a student-athlete,  you need to make the commitment to set goals, work hard, and to NEVER NEVER QUIT!  Times get hard, life is not easy.   You need to rely on your commitment to continue the course set before you.  You will have the reward of pushing through when times were tough.  You will be prepared for other things in life that come your way, and you know that your commitment will get you through it.  Be a winner, be successful by being COMMITTED!
